  Computer Tips: Speed Windows XP
1. Disable Startup items. Click Start Button -> Run -> Type:"MsConfig" (without quote) -> Ok -> select Startup tab -> Disable all -> OK.
2. Create virtual memory
3. Clean prefetch
4. Disk Cleanup
5. Turn off System Restore
6. Disable Hibernate
7. Choose Adjust for best performance under My Computer properties -> Advance -> Performance, click Setting.
8. Turn off Automatic Updates
9. Remove unused fonts
